Between December 2020 and April 2021 — during a period when Jalinka had not yet been formally established as a legal entity — we carried out an exploratory study with women survivors in Merbaun Village, Kupang. The aim was to better understand the realities, barriers, and small-scale potential of regenerative, women-led livelihoods in the area.
As part of this engagement, Jalinka supported one of the artisans by providing yarn and respectfully acquiring her handwoven textiles — recognizing her work as a quiet act of resilience and self-reliance in the face of layered hardship.
