Welcome to Jalinka
Where creativity becomes meaningful products, and products generate shared value for culture, communities, and the future.
Jalinka builds a community-based economic system grounded in an intergenerational approach, integrating women’s cultural work, through batik and handwoven textile practices rooted in natural dyes, into a living ecosystem of production, knowledge, and value. Working directly with women artisans and youth creators, Jalinka strengthens production capacity, restores natural dye knowledge, and develops collective structures that link creation, authorship, and shared economic value, while opening pathways to markets that recognize origin, process, and production ethics.
This video was documented by the Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) of Garut Regency—a local government body—and is used with shared permission. It captures part of the collective mark scoping process initiated by WIPO (led by Garima Sahdev) in May 2024, in coordination with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), and facilitated on the ground by Jalinka.
