From Plant to Palette: A Quiet Innovation in Color
This video follows a meaningful chapter in the journey of Indigenous women artisans supported by Jalinka, as they deepen their connection with natural dyes — not just as artistic technique, but as a way to live in balance with land, health, and heritage.
Their learning began with traditional plant-based methods, offering an alternative to industrial coloring by aligning beauty with ecological and cultural well-being. Through hands-on practice, they explored how color can nourish rather than disrupt — supporting the skin, the soil, and the spirit.
As their understanding grew, new questions emerged: Could they go further? Could color come not only from the forest, but also from home?
From coconut husks to onion skins, what was once overlooked became a source of possibility. Through an advanced training session led by an invited expert, the artisans learned to transform domestic waste into natural dyes — rooted in intuition, ecology, and tradition.
Among those involved, two young women artisans emerged as part of a new generation giving form to regeneration. Their presence became a quiet reminder: that the future of craft does not only lie in preservation, but in renewal — shaped by hands willing to imagine, adapt, and stay close to the land.
