Zubaidah Djohar

Founder & Vision Holder
A poet, changemaker, and cultural weaver

Zubaidah Djohar is the founder of Jalinka and the visionary behind its intergenerational soul. With over two decades of experience in feminist peacebuilding, cultural activism, and social research, she grounded Jalinka in care-based leadership, Indigenous wisdom, and women’s empowerment. Her deep connection with communities and her poetic approach to justice inform every knot Jalinka ties — from eco-fashion to regenerative livelihoods. Zubaidah is not only the initiator of Empu Jalin Karsa (EJK), but also a writer whose work weaves stories of healing, solidarity, and transformation.

“For me, regeneration begins with memory — of land, of craft, of women’s resilience.”
